Gyrl Ab'Strakt was born in Palo Alto, Ca. At a young age, she and her parents moved to Miami Florida, where she grew up...Throughout her years in elementary, middle, highschool and college she had always been told she was different. She spent most of her years with a paintbrush in one hand, and a pencil in the other. Her love for Art and Music became an incurable disease at the tender age of 6. She was given a keyboard, a discovered that she could play piano by ear...this intrigued her. In the 4th grade she purchased her first hip-hop tape: Totally Krossed Out by Kris Kross. Right then and there she knew that hip hop music would be a part of her life. She credits her interest in making beats and recording music to Knowledge (aka Alex). He was like the pusha man of hip hop that got her addicted. These days you can find her floating around the Bay Area, or spittin some hot fiyah in the lab...She is estatic that she is one of the few female beat-makers/emcees out there....
