About Me
My name is Michael Edward McHugh. I was born in Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa on August 19, 1986 with my twin sister. I was born with 2 front bottom teeth, I got them pulled. I lived in Newtown, PA for the first 3 years of my life with my mom and dad, sister and brother. I developed my first crush on a girl that lived 2 houses down from me. She moved right before I did. I lived down the road from my grandparents and that fucking ruled. I spent a lot of my time as a toddler running around my house naked. I moved to Doylestown days before my 3rd birthday. I went to Gayman elementary for K-6th grade were I pursued a career as a professional football player and international soccer superstar. I almost got a detention for fighting in gym class but AM kindergarteners couldn’t get those. I tried to build a future for myself and a particular girl named Vicky, but she went to a different middle school and that just didn’t allow for things to work. I played soccer and basketball for BAA, Football for Lenape Valley, swam for Fanny Chapman, and also played baseball for Pinhickon. I severed a tendon in my finger carving a pumpkin in school and got surgery for the first time. My grandfather died when I was 12 and I experience what death was like for the first time. I went to Holicong Middle School for 7-9th grade. I met Erik Petersen in my Social Studies class. I thought he was pretty gay at first. He thought he was really cool because he played soccer. Little did I know he would become my best friend to this date. I met Nick Cislak this year as well when he moved to my neighborhood. I played a lot of football with him and the Macphersons. I also met Jeff Wendig in that social studies class with Erik, we had the same shoes. I thought Jeff didn’t like me the whole time I was in middle school. I played a little soccer in middle school and ran track too. At the end of 7th grade got my first drum set, a Tama Swingstar. Me and Erik would jam in my basement and soon started my first band the mute. I went to C.B. East for 10-12th grade. Before 10th grade I got sick and was home schooled for the first half of my 10th grade year. My friends held it down for me. I ate a lot of food, played a lot of counter strike, and hung out with my dog all day. When I look back on it, it wasn’t too bad. I started hanging out with Michael Kokinda when I started to back to school. He was dating Nick’s sister and liked a lot of the gay shit me, Erik and Nick did. I dated the same girl for pretty much the whole time I was in High School. Jenna was controlling. I got a job at Subway and developed a pretty big crush on a girl that worked there and wrecked my relationship with Jenna because she is a jealous bitch, we dated for about a year. In the winter of my senior year my heart was broken but now when I look back on it was part of the best times of my life. I hung out with my friend’s everyday and didn’t have to answer to anyone. Those were the days of our crew. No one held grudges and hanging out was awesome, compared to now. I started playing Frisbee for east as a junior and played through my senior year, I now play for a summer league in Philadelphia. At the end of my junior year a medication I was taking practically paralyzed my bone marrow for a summer. I got blood treatments at the cancer center of Abington Memorial Hospital, 4 blood transfusions and a bone marrow biopsy which sucked dick. Shit got back on track as my senior year began. Initially I only applied to Temple University as a senior and didn’t get in. I Applied to Kutztown in March of my senior year and got in. I dated a girl named Katie for a while. At the end of the school year I started a pop-punk band with Erik Petersen, Michael Kokinda, Jon Simmons, and Jeff Wendig called The Erection Kids. It was very refreshing and fun, we recorded a CD in August. I graduated High School in June of 2005 and began working for my dad full time. I Enrolled at Kutztown University for Fall 05’ with two of my best friends Jeff and Erik. The transition to college was practically nothing. I liked being away from my home and being on my own. After winter break Ali Scott kissed me in the parking lot of the Presbyterian Church off of rt. 413 after a let down show, and I have been seeing her ever since. I can be myself around her, and that is what I like the most. In the winter and spring of 2006 The Erection Kids booked a tour for the summer. We saved our money and bought a van in May, that thing ruled. The few rides we had with the van were awesome. I’ll never forget the ride back from Philadelphia with Justin. We got in a car accident on the first day of our 2 week tour and it was over before it started. I’m still bitter. I am now in my sophomore year at Kutztown. I love the Philadelphia Eagles, Blink-182, my friends, girlfriend, and family.
