About Me

Life is a one-time event ~ I'm trying to do it the best I can since there are no "do-overs." Laguna is definitely the most beautiful place I've lived ~ and I'm sure I'll miss it ~ but it's not far away. I have the BEST kids in the world - sorry, it's true - get over it. I love to dance, work out, and play different sports such as co-ed softball, smash ball, bowling and well, not sure if I LOVE it, but have tried golf (driving range only). Since my kids are outta the house, I get to run around naked as much as I want and my cats don't seem to mind too much! I have a growing list of "to do" items for myself and hope to start checking them off soon. When I leave this world, I definitely want my mark to stand out. Not because I want people to look back and say, "wow, she was a great person," I want people to look back and realize they are capable of helping others also - pay it forward, you know?!?There is so much I'd like to learn about and expose myself to (stop it - not "expose" as in a dirty way). I'd like to meet interesting people who have interesting things to talk about while possessing the patience to allow me to become comfortable enough around them to participate in the interesting conversations with them. It takes me a little while to get my engine warmed up - but then I normally hold my own.I love to laugh ~ laughter is good like medicine. Find humor in yourself and find humor in the variety of life situations. Extend kindness to others as much as humanly possible. I'm not always successful in accomplishing these things, but definitely strive for it.

My Interests

Dancing, playing on the beach, strolling through art galleries, taking walks, window shopping, reading, and traveling. I also have an interest in getting myself out into the community to help others. Used to do it quite a bit, and I know, what you USED to do doesn't count today. I need to get it together and be a positive influence on others.

I'd like to meet:

Ashley Judd, Drew Barrymore, Meg Ryan and Matthew McConnaghy (how the hell do you spell his name anyhow?) - I'll take him, bongo drums and all.

Music:

Hip hop, rock, country, most anything except for techno - it just gets to me after a while.

Movies:

A Time To Kill, Wedding Crashers, The Notebook, Finding Nemo, Schindler's List, Midnight Express, Monsters, Inc., Fletch, Pursuit of Happyness - movies that make me smile or movies that make me cry from their reality or sensitivity - I absolutely love my heart being pulled by a reality check.

Television:

Law & Order, Two and Half Men, CSI, crime dramas

Books:

Almost all John Grisham books, Tuesdays With Morrie and One More Day by Mitch Albom - read them - great books; just finished The Appeal by Grisham. Currently working on a couple books I acquired from my Nana after she passed away . . .The Best Short Stories by Black Writers and L is for Lawless by Sue Grafton.
