Double Edge Sword Productions was established in the fall of 1994. The vision of DESP is to reach all those who are aliens to the free gift of salvation. DESP understands that by utilizing multi-media technology to effectively minister the gospel of J.C. to a dying generation, is how this can be accomplished. Between the years of 1995 to 2000, DESP began to grow outside the walls of the studio where it was conceived. Their message then began to overflow unto the streets of Central Florida, and beyond the surrounding urbanized communities. DESP was petitioned for numerous amounts of outings, and special engagements. Performing and ministering the Word of God in 2001, DESP became officially registered with ASCAP, and ventured out to acquire artists, producers, and other staff needed to fulfill God’s vision for DESP. 2004 marked a special time for this underground legacy of hip-hop, rap & reggaeton. It also symbolizes a decade of momentous struggles, but one of much anticipated success, company expansion, and prosperity. DESP has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.Each artist on the DESP roster understands the concept of operating as a production company, and as a family. They understand the concept of unity amongst themselves, and amongst their peers. Unity is a basic, but an incredibly profound theory that can used against spiritual opposition when needed too. Each artist, in their own individual way, have taken a different journey to get to where they’re going, eventually leading to a fulfilling relationship with Jesus Christ. Their stories of tragedy, and personal triumphs are very real, and the end result has remained the same. In the book of Mark, Jesus says "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." For in these last days more than ever, a ministry like that of the DESP " can go out to reach the lost, wherever the "traditional church" cannot! DESP has no boundaries when it comes to its artists. Their mission is to introduce God's infinite love, hope, and inspiration to all those that hear their music. Their hope is to benefit all those that are in despair, and to show the masses a new way of life filled with God's goodness, and Mercy.
