About Me
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
Well it all started several years ago, in the "musical wasteland" that is Gloucester; under the name of Wasted, Kris and Scott attacked local venues mainly playing sets of covers. Then came the name change to The Arcane, and their recording of 1st Ep "You're not listening"; and The Arcane we know today was beginning to take shape. After losing original drummer Tim Hole to the uni life, in April 2003 Spreece was drafted in from local band of wasters: Spindoubt, this could well have been the most sensible thing he's ever done, but then again that's not really very hard.Since then the band was fortunate enough to be accepted on the Wired project, which set them up with a photoshoot with Tom Oldham, a day in the studio, and a gig @ Gloucester Guildhall(the place bands like Muse and Radiohead started their careers!) This gave the band a focus, and pushed them on to begin doing what they do best, putting on a show. Since that Guildhall gig, the band have gone on to play several successful shows, including a return to the Guildhall, playing support to The Wayriders in May 2004, barely a year after conception.
The band continued to progress though, playing support to essential underground acts in both the punk and metal scene, supporting Fony, Adequate Seven, and Uncle Brian. And with a new EP under their belts things looked to be going from strength to strength. However 2004 ended in a dour fashion, after missed oportunities with bands like Goldblade, and No Comply. But the band bounced back in Summer 05' after nearly a year away, armed with a finalised EP and a string of successful gigs, including to a full tent at Gloucester Festival, playing one of their strongest sets to date.
Since then the band has gone on to play a string of sold out gigs at favourite local venues, as well as recording their first CD in 18 months. Now looking to expand their gigging CV and spread the word further afield. Remember that this band was not made for Cd, they were made for the stage, so if you really wanna know what they're like they really have to be seen live!
Bands we've played with: Adequate Seven, 4ft Fingers, Fony, Short Warning,Fandangle, Skankt, Uncle Brian, More Than Normal, The Wayriders, Buzztone, and many more...
