His love of reggae music and people transcends through his lyrics, voice and sound. Malachi began performing as a teenager at various contests and events, taking his voice into dance hall clubs and won many awards in various categories, including rapping original Jamaica style. He even won a very unique award once after winning a contest in Jamaica while on a trip in Ocho Rios, the award, Malachi laughingly says, a bottle of Tia Maria Wine.Malachi became serious about singing and performing after seeing the positive impact his music had on others. Realizing he could write songs that would be meaningful in peoples lives. He was nominated for seven awards by the International Reggae Arts award for Best Song, Best Singer, Best Songwriter, Male Vocalist, Best Producer, Best Entertainer and Best Stage Presence and won Best Song, Best Entertainer and Best Male Vocalist. Being nominated that many times showed him people were paying attention,This tells him he had work to do and needed more than ever to stay focus on his musical journey in reaching a wider audience. Tjax believes his music can motivate and elevate people to a spiritual awareness and beyond.When ask who were some of his musical influences. Malachi mentions legendary Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan , he states because they motivate and uplift generations. He also names Slim Smith, Peter Tosh, Toots and the Maytals, Capleton, Sizzla and other artist who send a positive message.Born and raise in Manchester Jamaica, Tjax Malachi has a dynamic stage presence and distinct vocal ability.
