Five Star Loser.
With a name like Five Star Loser, one can't help but wonder what this band is all about. And it's precisely that kind of wonder and attention that is driving fans right into the disease that is Five Star Loser.
With an intense dynamic and unmistakable style, Five Star Loser founder and front man Daniel Margasa is once again turning heads and causing a stir.
History.
Leaving his long-time position as a drummer for such bands as Powertrain, Bitterhead (Polygraph Records), and Motorskills (a.k.a. "Winefields" - Capitol Records), Daniel has been writing and recording incessantly over the past year.
Sound.
His demos have now evolved into a full length album, Punk Rock Nightmare, which critics liken to "early Guns N' Roses in a bar fight with the Ramones." With signature crunchy Marshall tone, airy acoustics, and punk rock flair, the band's musical energy is sure to satisfy a wide array of modern rock fans.
Live.
The band likes to see nothing more than a crowd full of screaming fans with arms waving and sweat dripping all over their bodies. Loser fans are not merely attendees at a show; they are entirely a part of it. At any moment, fans can expect to be bombarded with silly-string, confetti, guitar picks, ping pong balls, balloons, or strobe rays. Five Star is a band that will pull out all the stops in the name of entertainment.
Touring.
Currently located out of Maine and Boston, Daniel and his Five Star Loser line-up are have been touring on and off since Fall of 2005. They are currently performing US and European dates in support of the band's debut release, Punk Rock Nightmare (Polygraph Records, New York).
Presence.
With all of the their bombastic stage show and wily punk etiquette, you need only experience Five Star Loser once, and you too will understand why pop-punk is back.
