Mis-Teeq

About Me

In 2000, Mis-Teeq (consisting of Sabrina Washington, Su-Elise Nash, Alesha Dixon, and Zena McNally) became famous with the hit single "Why?" and its radio remix "Why? (UK Garage MC Edit)", they were getting started to work on their debut album, when Zena made a decision to leave the group. She felt that she did not want to be part of a girl band, and thus left the band to pursue her solo career. The three remaining girls proceeded to record there debut album under management of Telstar Records. In 2001, they released their debut album titled 'Lickin' On Both Sides', and it went to 3 on the UK Album Chart. It contained hits such as "All I Want" (2 on UK Single Charts), "One Night Stand" (5 on UK Single Charts), "B With Me" (5 on the UK Single Charts), and "Roll On/This Is How We Do It" (7 on the UK Single Charts). They also released a DVD that contained all of the videos as well as some interviews and behind-the-scenes on music video shoots. In 2003, they released the second debut album titled 'Eye Candy', and it went to 6 on the UK Album Chart. It contained the hit single "Scandalous" (2 on UK Single Charts), as well as "Can't Get It Back" (8 on UK Single Charts) and "Style" (13 on UK Single Charts). It was not long before Mis-Teeq soon announced a tour around United Kingdom for concert for the fans, and they soon began work on their debut album for the United States. In 2004, they came to the United States to start work on their debut album for the United States. To better the chance, they made a decision to create a compilation of the hits from 'Lickin' On Both Sides' and 'Eye Candy'. There debut album 'Mis-Teeq' was released in the United States, but failed to top the Billboards Hot 100, right after failed promotional services. Regardless of that, they released the hit single "Scandalous", and it went to 35 on the US Hot 100 and 7 on the US Hot Dance charts. They also released their second single "One Night Stand" which did not have any promotion at all, but did manage to go to 4 on the US Hot Dance chart. It was not long before their record label, Telstar Records was shut down. This led Mis-Teeq to take a long rest, and soon they announced that they were seperating. They released a 'Greatest Hits' CD and DVD specially for the fans, and worked on their debut releases. In July 2006, Alesha announced that her first debut single will be "Lipstick" and the single for it was released on 14 August 2006 and it went to 14 on the UK Single Charts.
