"A Moment Away" NOW ON iTunes!!!

About Me

Alan Lett's long anticipated album, A Moment Away is finally here. After almost three years, the new pop/rock/electronic masterpiece is complete with 14 all new original tracks. Elements reminiscent of the 80's blended with new and exciting beats and vocal effects create a sound Alan is proud to call his own.Alan's career for the past three years has been focused on producing other artists at his Recording Studio, Letthead Productions. Artists such as Jason & deMarco, Leo Laredo, Ken Gayle and Josh Duffy, who makes a guest appearance on A Moment Away in the song "The Spot." Despite working long hours with these other artists, Alan found time to give attention to his own music, writing heartfelt songs while experimenting with rhythms and textures he's never dared to explore. "For me," says Alan, "my studio is like a lab where I can experiment and there's no one telling me what not to do." This kind of direct conduit from genesis to fruition is what has always made Alan's music unique in its purity. Now 23 years old, Alan's new material steps away from his tradition of inspirational lyrics and into the grown-up realm of new-found love, heartbreak, sex, clubbing, money, and even karaoke. Intentionally campy lyrics to songs such as “Rich” and “Do U Miss UR gf?” are “purely for fun,” Alan assures his fans. “I can’t deny my love of pop music, and today’s top 40 is filled with lyrics about things that really don’t even make sense.” And with a smile, he adds, “I wanted to capture that.”“The Same Song” tells the unique story of someone who falls in love while singing karaoke. The open ended tale is told in first person; a unique introspective monologue directed to the mystery lover seen in the audience.Songs like “Unpredictable,” “Loud” and “The Spot (feat. Josh Duffy)” echo Alan’s discovery of the dancefloor. “Once I started going out with friends,” says Alan, “I discovered a whole new method of appreciating music - dancing your ass off!” Danceable rhythms throughout this album are perfect for this setting. In the same vein, “Lady DJ” is a song dedicated to the female DJ’s in the club scene. “Generally, I feel like there’s a lack of recognition for the fact that chicks make awesome DJ’s. It’s so typical to hear ‘Hey MR. DJ,’ why not ‘MRS. DJ?” The track’s heavy beat and anthem-esque chorus drive the point home.In the way of ballads, “Or Love Me,” and “Older and Far Away” are bittersweet stories of love on the rocks. But for fans of the more traditional, inspirational Alan, “Remember Right Now” is for you. Written for two of Alan’s best friends’ wedding, “Remember Right Now” is an innocent declaration of love perfect for the celebration of the union of two hearts.Almost a credo, Alan’s attitude of “something for everyone” has never been more evident on A Moment Away. Alan’s true colors show themselves in this raw representation of his love for music, melody, and of course, harmony. A Moment Away is a must-have!
