action, apathy(feigned), art, being broke, the blues, books, breaking stuff, camaro, cooking, dailykos.com, desirelessness, dreaming, driving, fixing stuff, god, hats and beanies, hip-hop related matters, india pale ales, insomnia, italy, liberalism, music, photochop, politics, reading, the red room, red wine, sierra nevada brewing, pen pals, somehow looking for it in all the wrong places, tao te ching, this horrible addiction that we both have if youre actually reading this, trying to find ways out, trying to get not weak, vegetarianism, working(i got laid off!), writing, zen.
santa!
pop country sucks pretty bad. i could jam on old swing tunes all day. i like the music my friends make.
i tried writing one, once.
i read books.
tao te ching by lao tzu, tortilla flat-dubious battle by steinbeck, 9 stories-catcher in the rye-franny and zooey-raise high the roofbeams, carpenters and seymour, an introduction (and everything unpublished on deadcaulfields website) by salinger, a million little pieces-my friend leonard by frey, the prophet by kahlil gibran, what matters most is how well you walk through the fire by bukowski, the daring young man on the flying trapeze-the human comedy by saroyan, all short stories-the sun also rises-the old man and the sea by hemingway, all short stories-this side of paradise-the great gatsby by fitzgerald, the adventures of tom sawyer by mark twain, poetry by stephen crane, the outcasts of poker flat and other stories by hart crane, everything ever written by shakespeare and others... but yah, those are the big ones. oh, and i have to mention that jonathan livingston seagull had more effect on my early childhood spiritual development than any church or organized religion. my mom read it to me back in the day.
