Goon's a fuckin' chilipepper!

About Me

The Fire Royale (formerly Statements of Silence), began as a project from the mind of guitarist Teddy Weckbacher 2 years ago. Since then there have been 5 different member lineups, 106 different names, and an ever changing musical style. In the beginning summer of 2004, Teddy Weckbacher set out to create a band that would be able to create bridge over the gap in between Classic and Modern Rock. Soon joining Teddy was Chris Goonan on keyboard, and two fellas named Jake, one on drums, and one of guitar and bass. After a show or two it didn't work out and the band had yet to create any originals. Teddy and Chris decided it was time for a break. They were having trouble finding any new members that suited their empty slots. Yet, Chris went to his longtime friend Pat Fahey whose brother owned a drumset, and Pat at least knew how to keep time above all else. With the new lineup the boys worked hard to find a signature sound and style. Eventually, Chris moved to bass, and refused to be known as anything other than, "Tha Goon." Pat also got better, and was able to not drop his sticks as often, reducing his numbers to about 3 or 4 each practice. The guys wrote 2 originals, a techno-rock guitar jam called the Grizz Bizz, and a semi-ballad, Find A Way. When it came time to take things more seriously, Pat's brother Collin was added on vocals. The band had truly found it now. With help from Collin, the band produced 2 more songs, Counterpart, and arguably their best to date; The Chuck Norris. They recorded these tracks and played a decent amount of basement shows. But the band still felt that they were missing a key element and they began to look for another guitarist. When they came up empty handed Teddy again felt it was time for a break. A month or so went by and Teddy and Pat both began pursuing new projects. Emerging from the athletic field swamps of legendary Plympton, MA was a beast that's name had not been heard. His name was Jesse George. Jesse had been playing guitar since he was just a wee lad and could shred better than anyone Pat had seen in his age group. Pat and Jesse began working with Late Nights at Face Value bassist Garrett Fowler, and after one practice, some shitty lyrics, a broken snare head, and a stepped on dog, Pat knew it wasn't going to work out. He told Garrett the project would have to end, and Garrett was fine with that; yet Pat had other plans for Jesse. Pat went back to Teddy and convinced him that this kid was the missing element. SOS got back together in the beginning of 2005 and had a few practices with Jesse. Things went over amazingly and Jesse was immediately added on Lead Guitar. After re-writing all the songs, the band recorded some rough tracks. After the recording had finished the lineup changed again, Collin Fahey left SOS and pursued a project, 2 Dollar Pistol, with friend Stevie George (Jesse's Younger Brother). Teddy, who had been taking voice lessons, immediately stepped up to the plate and took the frontman position to new heights playing both guitar and piano. This lineup seemed to be the perfect fit. Since then the band has recorded a few new tracks, written about 3 new songs, won 2 Battle of the Bands, single handedly kept the Kingston Burger King in business, and played a decent amount of shows. They are always willing to play at a party, and you are encouraged to come to a show and hang out with them.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
