Music for the New World's Harmony

About Me

I was born and raised near Montreal, Quebec and I began my musical journey when my father bought me a drumkit when I was 5. I learned the drum as a first instrument but my true calling came later on. My real musical mission was revealed to me at 22, during an intense inner journey to find the true Meaning of my existence and my right place in this world. I then began a steady activity of songwriting, composition and changed my whole musical perspective. I picked up the flute and other melodic instruments and left the percussions to transmit a more harmonizing energy through my creation.10 years later, I have composed more than 500 songs, hundreds of instrumental pieces, wrote thousands of poems and learned to play many instruments. I also embraced the world of studio engineering and released my first self-produced album in 2006. A new one is scheduled to be out during the course of 2008.Music for me is an inner pilgrimage, a doorway allowing me to tap into a vast sea of Cosmic Harmonies, Melodies and Poetry, which I am privileged to bring into form for your blessing and enjoyment. I strive to send forth a true message of peace, hope and compassion to mankind, to encourage the people to remember the Divine Sparkle in their Heart, and hopefully become more loving and kind to themselves and those around them.May the Light of Life shine down upon your face and everywhere you are! Be at peace.Elie

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: I'm pretty much of a one man band: I play flute, alto flute, piccolo, clarinet, bass clarinet Singing piano/keyboards kalimba, metallophones, triangle, and other percussions I do some prospection in uncharted sonic territories using a variety of effect processors, layering, synthesis, etc, which I integrate in my music. The intro of "Star Streams" features a combination of convolution processing of the original synthesized source, followed by multiple layers of granular processing. It gives the impression of a dense scintillating cloud of sound. Geneviève Poulin joue le basson et daniel Lanthier le hautbois.
Influences: My musical heroes are: Franz Schubert, Sergei Rachmaninov, Felix Mendelssohn, Gustav Mahler... baroque folks, (JS and CPE Bach, Zelenka, Buxtehude, and other masters of renaissance' sacred choir music). For me, the purest musical art is alive through Sacred choir music.Gregorian chants are inspiring, carrying the mystical timeless waves of pure melodies and humble beauty.
