Welcome to bettyoatmeal! My name is Karen Davisson and I've been selling my one-of-a-kind designs since 1996. I find discarded treasures, lost and unwanted pieces of needlepoint for instance, and give them new life. I surround them with a variety of lively fabrics and shape them into highly original retro clothing designs. My pieces are textile collages of wearable art for men, women and children on the label formerly known as, Housewears.
In business since 1995, I have been featured in print (Austin American Statesmen, Seattle Times and mentioned in Village Voice by Michael Musto), seen on TV (Toronto's OohLaLa and Seattle's KongCam) and on the runway (Marion's Fashion Brunch, NYC, twice).
Available at http://bettyoatmeal.etsy.com or in person by appointment. Relentlessly campy and ridiculously uplifting...take a look at my new work.
