Tristan Hupe: I was born in 1987 in Purmerend. In the many years I had classical piano lessons, I joined in several competitions of which I placed as a finalist in one and won the Regionaal Pianoconcours Waterland. The price was a lesson with Belgian pianist Sylvia Traey. As a kid I sang in a choir with which I travelled through Europe and sang in Het Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Carre (Amsterdam), Circustheater (Scheveningen) and many more places. By now I study jazzpiano with Jasper Soffers at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. I am composing a lot for different bands such as Miss Multiply, an improvising cross-over quintet in which I play piano. I also lead my own band, The Living Room Project, playing exclusively my own compositions and arrangements!
