PREET MANGAT
About Preet
Preet Mangat is considered the most promising new talent in Punjabi Music today. His debut album 'Charkha' was sold out in Canada within two days. In fact, it has been sold out many times since. Preet's compelling lyrics, irresistible voice and alluring music has made him a household name. He is recognized and loved by all ages – from grandmothers to grandchildren and everyone in between. Like the best artists, Preet's music has an eternal sound that appeals to fans of all ages. As a songwriter as well as a singer,
Preet thinks it's important to cast his words wide. In other words, he is not trying to contain himself in some little box marked 'Bhangra'.

Harking back to a late-sixties retro sound, the beautiful 'Charkha' was one of the first songs Preet wrote for the project.
Opening with an enchanting 'Sarangi' resembling soft rain, 'Charkha' is a heartbreaking tune about a beautiful married
Punjabi girl. 'GUROOR' on the other hand is proof that Preet Mangat has the gift of making some of the most undeniably inventive
and assured Punjabi music. Focusing on progressing as an artist, Preet is currently working on his next album.

Do not remove.Singer, Songwriter, Composer-Preet Mangat has stamped his indelible imprint on the music scene in 2008.
Moving beyond the competition by just being himself, Preet is right in time to usher in a new era of Punjabi music.
"I wanted an album where you could listen to it from beginning to end and it would put you in an imaginative state,"
Preet says of his debut album, "Gurdas Maan, Malkit Singh, Jazzy B, Sukhshinder Shinda, they paved the way for me.
I feel like they're some of the greatest of all time and they lyrically and conceptually put you in this place(the imaginative state).
I want my fans to feel like they're part of the music. That's what 'Charkha' is all about, drawing people in."Preet has traveled the world, and he wants to bring that across in the material.
"I don't know what puts certain ideas in my head when I'm writing," explains Preet. "Sometimes I see a picture in a magazine, a painting in a museum or a word on a page, and that's all I need to trigger the thoughts."
