Lilin was started by Troll and Draugr in November 2007 as a two-man Black Metal project with Troll on drums and guitar and Draugr on vocals and rhythm guitar. The two recorded one song before being joined by Nerolord on guitar and Astaroth on bass. Both of whom Troll had previously been in bands with. Astaroth would leave the band before its first show at Dirty Jack's on February 11th 2008 where the band would play without a bassist. After a couple of line-up changes Troll, Nerolord, and Draugr would reform the band with Troll preforming drums, Nerolord performing guitar, and Draugr performing both vocals and bass. After a year of being in the band, in January 2009, Nerolord would leave in an attempt to form a new project. With Nerolord gone, Draugr has taken up guitar dutys. The two remaining members will still continue to play some old songs that were written with Nerolord in the band and will also continue to write new music as a two piece untill new members are found.
