(UNDERGROUND NOIZE INTELLIGENCE, An eight-part Hip-Hop crew based in Chicago.) He established his production savvy from producing for a multitude of local artist, through various engineering jobs throughout the city and abroad. His knack for rhyming came through his direct involvement and success with groups such as U.N.I., L.O.T.U.S. M.O.B. and ILLNATURE. Over the past 10 years these group quickly became an important role in the Chicago music scene through various performance and concert events. After establishing himself as a successful solo artist, he grew to become a critical favorite, known especially for his entertaining underground mix tape verses. The peak thusfar of his success includes the nationwide release of ILLNATURES’s hit single “U KNOW WHATS UP” performed and produced by himself. It was this single that claimed him a peak position of 13 in multiple record pools around the country. In 2004 PIE-Ro established his own production / publishing company named SHKDWN79. Unlike the 90’s era of Hip-Hop that PIE - RO was inspired by and lived in, PIE - RO feels emcees today are corporate and industry driven as opposed to skill based and skill driven.Influenced by artist such as Common, Outkast, and Twista.
