Me names matthew joya,from west london.Been a sticks man for many a year.stared to play the drums from a mad age of 8 years of old.I cut my teeth as a side drumer in the forces,did all the cold hall stuff with a band called BRODY,then we parted ways,due to a rare meeting of a fellow brew man.
Money was handed over in the the studio and copperplate was
born.LONG DAYS OF ONLY HAVIN A CAN A SOUP A DAY TO EAT,JUST TO GET THE MONEY TO PUT INTO THE SOUNDS TOOK ITS TOLL.
Did a spell with CARBON 13,then moved on to a blues out fit
from the city of london they had a lot of fingers in the pie,but the front man was to up him self,so i went throw the door.
Then meet up with another blues outfit.rag tag lot,tom on sax,kev on bass,evo the hover gat palyer,and mr.fancies the gat player and keys from MR CATS STEVENS BAND.
Then i hid my self away in the studio to learn more about my self and my tarde.
Then sent out a sos for a drumer looking for a northen soul outfit.Did the rounds playing the drums,
WITH LONG TALL SHORTY,FOR A FEW MONTHS,THANKS TO IAN PAGE FROM THE SECRET AFFAIR,AND THE MAN HIM SELF TONY MORRISON.
After a few years out from the skins,am back with the soul and the feel as it was once.
A well timed phone call from a song writer called mr steve hanshaw to meet up and play live to recored IN THE BANK VOLT IN HOVE?what a mgic day it was in all ways,was great to see mr tardo the welsh man with the soul to tell you the truth.a new project in the bag,but this time its at are own pace.dont wount to play for back ground music,wount to play for folk that do the do.love you all,keep your eyes on the ball,hope to see you at a play nite soon.matt x
