About Me
I am the business manager at the oldest, commercial facility in Nashville, TN. I am also the Business Manager and Production Assistant for the owner of this studio, Garth Fundis (who is currently working with Trisha Yearwood, Terri Clark, Bill Gentry among others)And here is a little about this fabulous facility:When independent producer Garth Fundis bought Sound Emporium in 1992, he knew he was buying a piece of Nashville studio history. The facility's log books date back to the very first week of sessions, including the November 6, 1969, booking by Canadian country artists Ian & Sylvia and Todd Rundgren.Fundis, who has been a producer of such extremely successful artists as Trisha Yearwood, Keith Whitley and the New Grass Revival, was well aware of the depth of history at Sound Emporium. The studio, built by pioneer Nashville publisher and producer Jack Clement, was where Fundis' career as an engineer began in 1972. As its main client throughout the 1980s, Fundis was intimately aware of the potential of the studios. Since the purchase, he's led the studio into yet another new era.Sound Emporium retains the magic that made it one of Nashville's longest continuously running recording facilities. A complete refurbishment by Mike Chappell & Associates combined the site's two buildings into a single, more efficient and spacious two-room facility. The B room was redesigned for optimum use, and the entire facility is designed around the idea of client comfort. That includes a full kitchen, conference room, a full-service staff, door phones and security cameras. Musician and artist comfort are provided for with special technical features like Formula 8 cue system, allowing individual headphone mixes. The B studio was sculpted with live tracking dates in mind. A cathedral ceiling was included in the remodel. The redesign was structured to retain the best acoustical properties of the room while maximizing efficiency of the facility as a whole.Studio A, which retained its own live chamber and was virtually untouched acoustically during the renovation, remains one of the largest tracking rooms in Nashville. Both studios now have custom Mogami wiring. Those who have used the facility include Trisha Yearwood, Buddy Jewell, Sugarland, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Bob Dylan, EmmyLou Harris, Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn and film soundtracks such as O Brother, Where Art Thou, Cold Mountain, and Walk The Line.P.S. As for me personally - I LOVE PREDATORS HOCKEY!! JORDIN TOOTOO ROCKS THE ICE!!
