Tangerine Sound Studios

About Me

Tangerine is a studio recording facility in the North Hill neighborhood of Akron, Ohio. We have a spacious 3700 sq ft building that contains 2 separate professionally designed studios with great sounding rooms. There is a large lounge area that is stocked with comfy couches, wireless internet, and a staggering amount of cool records, movies, books and video games to keep you occupied during those long sessions when it's someone else's turn to overdub.
Studio 1 is operated by Ben Vehorn and is available for booking. It is based around a 1970s vintage Auditronics 501 "Son of 36 Grand" mixing console and RADAR multitrack recorders. We also have a Pro Tools system and projects can be moved back and forth between platforms. There are a large number of outboard processors and effects and a huge collection of vintage instruments and amplifiers available for use. And, of course, a sweet microphone collection. This studio is open to booking by the general public and inquiries about availability should be sent via this myspace page or to [email protected]
Studio 2, the "Eagle's Nest" is run by Patrick Carney and Ted Mallison and is a private facility used to work on personal projects. It is also Audio Eagle Records World HQ.
We are now booking projects for 2008. Please send us a message if you're looking for studio time.
