CENTRAL SLANG : A Way of LifeJoey G, Jeff L, Kurt D, and KLD are the members of the band Central Slang. The four members were born and raised in Windsor, Ontario Canada which is where the band began. As many of you know, Windsor, Ontario is a border city to Detroit Michigan. The bands name is the groups effort to identify their merging of Canadian and American slang; hence the name Central Slang.In the year 2000 the four Canadian members started jamming and writing their own tunes from the back yards of Windsor, ON. The bands influences include: metal, hip hop, hardcore, blues, funk, and jazz. Although the band does have many influences, each individual member has his own inspirations thus creating Central Slang’s unique sound.As Central Slang they composed their first song “Spitting Slang” in 2000 and later came out with “Power Trip”, “Whats the truth”, “Rose City Hustla” and “Premeditated” to name a few. They performed in gigs all over Ontario, CA and Michigan, US in clubs that showcased local groups. They also put out an independent CD in 2003.The band was faced with a really tough decision when two of its members moved to Calgary, CA in 2005. Even though two of its members currently reside across the country the band has managed to stick together and continue to perform and create new tunes for the love of the music.All of their music is original with the exception of a remake of Meastro Fresh Wes’s “Let Your Back Bone Slide”.The band is currently working on a full length CD with features like BIG LEFT of La Coka Nostra and Final Notice (Icchi Swade & Spittz) also planning to tour in the near future. The band's latest album fuses Joey G’s and KLD’s looming snarls with crashing drum and guitar solos to forge a solid record chock full of sludgy anthems.With standout tracks like “Let Your Back Bone Slide” the music of Central Slang appeals to indie rock fans and non-indie rock fans alike. Central Slang is an essential addition to any music lover’s library.
