Raskardaš Orkestar

About Me

Raskardaš Orkestar is a street band from Kharkiv, Ukraine who perform traditional Jewish, Gypsy and Balkan music to ornate the urban landscape with the music we love.

It was founded by Yurek “Nedobalkan” Yackubov, Eugene “Scaramousche” Manko and Eugene “Henyk” Tomashko in March 2008. At the same time, Windmill the percussionist joined the party with his mighty darbuka, and in a couple of months, velvet-voiced Catherine became our second vocalist.

Acoustic arrangements and a telltale reckless approach are our way of living. The songs we sing are focused on the following topics: “It’s time that we had a drink”, “We shouldn’t have drunk yesterday” and “Alas, I didn’t get laid this time”.

LeChaïm, Rromale!
