I can't possibly begin to describe myself. But I can try.
First off, my name is Maria, but I go by more nicknames than I can even think of right now. Humans and metal are my general interests. Let me explain. As for metal, I love music and concerts and I go to shows every chance I get, I've been to quite a few in my time. I've seen at least half of my music list live and I'm usually found at a show one way or another. I love talent and I support local musicians whenever I can. I don't ONLY listen to metal, although it is at the top of my list, I'm a tad eclectic when it comes to music.
I went to stony brook because of the scholarship, but I fell in love. As for humans, I'm a psychology major and a business minor but I focus a lot on philosophy/theater/media communications/design. I love the human mind, and all developmental/abnormal aspects of it. Hence...I love to analyze, to re-analyze, to over-analyze, to create, to lead, to read, to think, to learn, to listen, etc. I psycho-analyze everyone, and am usually right on the money, so watch out ;) haha. I also love to cook, I often find myself watching cooking shows in the rare moments I watch tv. If I had enough passion for it I would go into the culinary arts, but I can't seem to bring myself to boil a live lobster. I am not the biggest fan of meat, but I wouldn’t call myself a vegetarian just yet. I want to try everything. Except maybe insects. I'm only guilty of being girly around large things that crawl.
I love being affectionate and being with a close group of friends, pretty much anywhere. It's the little things in life that count. I love coffee and a quiet park bench on a warm day. If you're ever in stony brook you'll find me on the grass in the sunshine, most likely reading. Laughter, writing, coffee, and music are my anti-drugs. I can’t stand bad grammar. My sense of humor has never failed me. I'm very sarcastic and random...always. I am by no means shy, but usually seem more confident than I actually am. I'm a social creature of the night. A metal butterfly if you please.
As a general statement, you don't have to look like an idiot to listen to metal (or any genre) and to truly appreciate it. I cannot deny being a fan of the color black, but I feel that there is a time to grow up and move on. Metal burns within my very soul (oh yeah). I work, pay my bills, go to school, and make my own dinner. And that's exactly the way I like it. I hate immaturity...except in the rare case that it is amusing. I like people with a mind of their own and something to say, I’m always up for a friendly debate. I love my friends to pieces, and I love my wonderful boyfriend even more. God knows where I’d be without them. I also quote movies like there's no tomorrow, in other words...
