SaddleTramp

About Me

"SaddleTramp" was formed in a haze of smoke and Tenneessee whiskey in 1979 by five musicians with nothing in common but a rebel heart. Not caring for mainstream country music, and being influenced more from California country than Nashville, these five at the start thought to "Don't Give Then What They Want - Give 'Em What They Need".......and thats what they did then, and still do in re-incarnations.....................Performing from their home base in Yuma, the band has performed in California, Arizona (!), New Mexico, Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada and a few states they don't remember. Too many nightclubs to list, a few Rodeo's and opening act for such music talents as Hank Williams Jr., George Jones, Rodney Crowell, John Anderson, Garth Brooks, Johnny Lee, Asleep At The Wheel, The Bellamy Brothers, Steve Wariner, and The Marshall Tucker Band, these seasoned musicians have loved and lived. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .And even today, will go and and perform to keep the name alive, and now are in the recording studio to release a new CD early 2009 on Taco Grease Records. The new CD will include one cut with The Original Five, which is especially difficult as original Ray Carl has passed away. The boys will "lift" his parts from previous recordings, and play around them to create a new tune. Other members, past, and present, will be Rusty Griffin, Phil Anaya, Jerry Rosner, Tab Wilcox, Tim Allen, Danny Vanak, Jeff McVey, Mattie Figueroa, Joe Lykins.........We thank you for stopping by, thank you for listening for so many years, and feel blessed that we lasted so long, and that most of us are still alive. It was fun, but it was one rough and one hell of a ride. We didn't do it the easy way - we played hard, and played harder..........check out our alter-egos at www.myspace.com/thegreasebrothersband . . . . . . . . . . . . . . or email us at: [email protected]....................
