As a solo singer songwriter, he is a 3 time finalist at the Sierra Songwriters Festival in Sonora CA, a 2 time finalist at the Founders Title Folk and Bluegrass Festival in Park City UT, a finalist at the Sisters Music Festival in Sisters OR, and finalist at the Tumbleweed Music Festival in Richalnd WA. He will happily tell you that his father’s name was also David Lynch, and further that he holds no animosity whatsoever for anyone else in the film or music business with the same name.David spent 5 weeks in Austin, Texas and 5 weeks in Nashville, Tennessee trying to reach the self imposed goal of 100 live shows. Based on the quality of his first solo release he was invited to join in for “writers night” at the Bluebird Cafe (holy ground for songwriters, and writer’s night is by invitation only). He played every week while in Nashville, and has made several trips back to play the Bluebird since making the move to the Central Coast of California.DOZEN.....David Lynch’s 3rd album of original songs (2 covers on this one) features the fantastic Dobro work of Frank Duncan, and the outstanding Mandolin stylings of Mark Travis. Lighter and more accessible than “Good Wood” (his inspired release of 2001) or “David Lynch” (his self-titled release of 1996), the extra instrumentation gives the brilliant song writing some “get up and go.”The band is happy to pitch in for social causes, and has played benefits for The Green Party, Code Pink, Children’s Hope Foundation, Economic Opportunity Commission, Enhancement Inc. Breast Cancer Survivors, and a meet and greet for Democratic Congressional Candidate Sharon Beery (to name a few).
