Formed in 2001, Winter Carousel is an experimental music project specializing in cute and creepy sounds. Winter Carousel uses a hybrid of digital and analog sources for producing their music. Although their live appearances are now very rare, the duo was actively recording and performing in Chicago, 2002-2004. In addition to an assortment of sound-making toys, their live performances often featured handmade animal costumes designed by member Diane Nelson. Winter Carousel's work has appeared on several various artists compilations.
