Damsels in Distress is an experimentally intense band based out of Providence Rhode Island. with it's roots soundly set in the Grindcore "scene" and it's heart still open to the melodic hooky"ness' of such popular acts that are currently flooding the airwaves. The band formed in late 2008 with one thing in mind, to be true to themselves and open to all types of musical styles while retaining the heaviness and intensity of traditional "Grind" and "Death" bands. Boasting members of a number of influential local heavy hitters such as Dour Cursiva, The Departed, Beautiful Gorgeous, and Sounds Like a City, the Band strives to fill a hole left in the current "Scene" left by overly comerical "Screamo" and "Metalcore" bands that seem to be lurking behind every corner these days. The result is a band the that is genuinely and refreshingly "Unique". A band that crosses lines and builds bridges between a number of different musical genres. Damsels in Distress is a band that can feel just as comfortable playing with a band like "Waking the Cadaver" as they would with "Vanna". With such a bright future ahead of them the band are poised to continue to build their fan based more and more rapidly and with their upcoming album "Wipe the Vomit from you mouth and blow me a KisS" stand ready to push the lines of metal and grind even further. check in often for news and updates!
