About Me

I want to raise awareness... specifically among those in the United States... we sit and complain - sometimes justifiably so - all the while ignoring the true pain that takes place in the world everyday......... I'm just like you... I worry about bills, think that our government is doing a screwed up job, and worry about family and friends... however - I know one thing more... my life is stress free compared to those who live around the world. Slavery is not limited to the past, it does not only exist in Africa, and it is not only white people at fault. African American history is filled with pain - of that there is no question, but we now have freedoms we did not have before... we have things we take for granted. Such as: Being able to complain and petition our government, like having running water in our houses/apartments, like being able to walk outside, get in our car, and drive to work - all while complaining about how we hate our jobs. --------I'm not saying these things aren't justified, I'm just asking for perspective... realize that men women and children are still being held against their will. No country is the exception - everyone is at fault. Through the things we buy, through our apathy, we watch blindly as people suffer because of religion, ethnicity, race, convenience, or any other reason you can think of.--------If you took a moment to read this, thank you. I believe the world can change - but only if YOU do.
