Kenny Albert, Chip McCabe, Mike Polce, & Mike McDonald all share a common love for music and decided to form a band in late 2005 in order to bring absolute chaotic grindcore to the local Connecticut scene. The band progressed with extreme enthusiasm having numerous practices and after two name changes they finally decided to call their band Black Stool.
On November 2nd, 2005, Black Stool made their first appearance sharing the stage with Zeus Cronion, Catalyst, Onomonopia, and Wake of Incarnation, on the campus of Central Connecticut State University and was met with a rousing response.
The band expanded their line-up in Spring of 2006, welcoming bass player, Dennis Morin into the band. Though he hadn't been in the band very long, he helped round out the band's overall sound.
Black Stool self-released their debut full-length record "Aborted Due to Lack of Activity" which is now out of print and, for all intensive purposes, will likely remain that way. In June 2006, the band recorded an EP to mark 6-6-06 with that lineup to quell the masses until more new material surfaced.
Eventually, Mike McDonald would amicably part ways with Black Stool to focus on other priorities in his life. His vacancy was almost instantaneously filled by Chris Barry, who is also colloquially referred to as "7 Bands." Shortly thereafter, Chip would vacate his duties for pretty much similar reasons. Kenny would take on the role of sole vocalist.
After a few months of intermittent opportunities to write/jam/develop more brutal and less relenting music, Black Stool recorded it's latest demo offering, which is untitled as of yet. In October/November of 2007, the band recorded 3 new tracks that demonstrate a slightly more refined approach to writing/arranging, while at the same time maintaining a level of intensity that seems to get lost by many other bands that use the term grindcore somewhat ignorantly. We hope that after hearing/seeing us, you'll likewise agree.
