About Me

why the hell not?
Octagon Island has been a band in some form since the fall of 2003. When things were a little more upbeat and Massachusettsy it was called the Elusive Rapmaster Ensemble. Rainstorms, homesickness, Chicago, nostalgia, nocturnal living, chest aches and the great lakes turned it into Octagon Island. Over the years both incarnations have played shows with a lot of random weirdos. Some of them have been a pretty big deal. I'd like to play with more bands that break things and would eventually like to not feel like I'm singing like a sad, rainsoaked forest creature.

Influences: russian literature : the band, love: not the band though we like them just fine, chicago: not the band at all (actually, "25 or 6 to 4" totally rocks), inclement weather, seventeen year cicada cycle, the fort thunder plastic bag hat, odd drums, badonpurpose, boys, erik satie, bedroom prog, touching computers, inbetween times.
Sounds Like: midwestern bicoastalism, messin' around, late nights, early mornings, perpetual gloom and sarcasm, the rhythm is the bass and the bass is the treble
Record Label: olde $$$, sanitary records
