"YOU CAN TAKE THE MAN OUT OF THE COUNTRY, BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE THE COUNTRY OUT OF THE MAN".....That's EDDIE B!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Aloha!! I'm Eddie's sister, the ONLY ONE may I add!! I'm doing a biography on my little brother...and honored to do so. Eddie has been playing music for over 30 years and sad to even think about it....that I just learned only since 2002, that he has made music part of his career!! If I had known then....I would have supported him all the way, attended his gigs! But being his older sibling, we were years apart and doing our own thing! As he would have put it...I was out messing around that's why I didn't know much about him! lol Yeah right! I was off...and married! Hmmm...come to think of it, I WAS OFF WHEN I GOT MARRIED! I was off the island...sorry brother for not knowing much about you! But I'm here to STAY!! You can't get rid of me that fast!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Of seven (7) children, 'Eddie B' is the most gifted in music then any of us! He made music part of his career, and you know...he is awesome. I ENVY EDDIE! I told him that in my next life....I'm going to be Melveen Leed, Jr. Name will be in LIGHTS and I will be SINGING my heart out, like MELVEEN! I guess I need to get Melveen's permission?!? Love you Melveen! (Melveen Leed is one of Hawaii's Greatest) *********************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~KUNIA PLANTATION: Eddie was born in Wahiawa, Hawaii....raised in Kunia. Kunia Plantation Home, better known as DELMONTE. As you know by now, DELMONTE has finally shut down in 2007. Those were the good ole days! Eddie and the rest of us siblings used to slide on cardboard (from boxes), down on the steep dirt hill! It was even more fun when it rained! We got all muddy, wet, and when we got home...we heard it from our mother! BUT it was worth it!! We had mud fights, played 'army' with mud balls (yes army, not dolls!), wacking the bees from the beehives at the kunia gym, sleeping in our tree house in the Mango tree, go-carting and...spin the bottle at the gym (hehe shhh)! WE GOT DIRTY TO THE MAX! During Eddie's elementary years, when he used to get angry he used to pack vienna sausage & some clothes, and pretend to runaway from home! Cute huh?!? He would walk through the pineapple fields then when he reached the mountain forest, came back home! At least he did run away for an hour. Can't beat that for a childhood fun! Our 88 year old mom still asks "when are we going back home to Kunia??". Sad huh?!? Those were the days!! Memories....never forget DELMONTE PLANTATION days...It will always be good memories!! This is where our parents lived and loved since 1946...ALOHA DELMONTE!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FAMILY: Eddie is the youngest of 7 children. Six (6) sons, one (1) daughter. We each played musical instruments. We had drums, guitars (rhythm, lead, bass), piano, ukelele, sax, trumpet, clarinet, accordian, even the tamborine! And we all took turns on different instruments! Eddie started to learn the guitar by ear, when he was only 7 years old. He was the lead of our famiy band because I guess...HE was the STAR (the youngest!! No fair!) and the best in the group. Eddie could 'pic' better then any of my other 5 brothers! He learned the Guitar all by ear....that's how good he was in elementary and still is.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~INTEREST: Eddie started employment at DELMONTE since the age of 15 and has been there for 30 years. He went to College after high school to study music. Performed with the 'LEEWARD JAZZ BAND' in College for 2 years. He was always interested in MUSIC. Eddie used to be so attentive when my piano teacher gave me stars for my lessons. Each star earned me points for candies!! When my teacher left....Eddie wanted my candies! You know, I think he stole some candies from the top of my piano!! Who else dunnit?!? I guess that's why Eddie got so interested in music. The AWARDS for learning music! Oh yes, he finally learned the keyboard back in College days! No candies anymore, getting paid with money now! hehe~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~ROCK ON!: All seven of us would always jam after getting home from school We had our own concert in our Living Room We used to put a mic in the back of the piano to make it sound STEREO We didn't have keyboards back then like we do now! I remember the time we scotch taped colored cellophane paper on top of our TV screen...to turn it into a COLORED TELEVISION!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ HEAVENLY BROTHERS: When Eddie was still in elementary, all 6 brothers formed a band called the 'HEAVENLY BROTHERS'. Strictly gospel music...played instrumentals(of course Eddie was the LEAD), and also vocals... harmony! The HEAVENLY BROTHERS were kind of popular at churches back then, because that was the period when churches started 'jammin'! The tempo was getting to a much faster pace during that time. From 7 years old through High School, Eddie with the HEAVENLY BROTHERS, played for our church and other churches. Churches invited them to perform at their church, and dig this....the girls! A lot of girls wanted to marry into the family because of their band! haha
..
They were in high school by then ...then after most of us were gone, Eddie started music on his own. He was the youngest and still wanted to perform! Now look at him....all that talent! They're in uniform...and Eddie was in elementary! My little brother was CUTE! haha ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~ NOWADAYS: Currently Eddie holds a full time job with the State, and plays music. He plays on the AliiKai Dinner Cruise, and at the Star of Honolulu. He also plays at DON HO'S GRILL with MOLOKAI JAZZ. Plays for Churches, Community Service, Non-profit organizations. Also at Clubs, Parties. He is in process of recording his first solo CD! They say he's got a good studio voice...so let's check it out as soon as it comes out! I ALWAYS told him that he has a good voice, but NO he wouldn't listen to me! Why?!? I'm OLDER! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~My brother Ed is a shy, friendly, kind, caring man. He is a humble person..truly nice person. You'll never meet anyone so humble. I'm his sister but this is truly coming from my heart as an individual, not only as a sibling. He is so talented with multiple instruments and vocal. But it's sad that I missed out on all those years of his music life, by not knowing that he pursued music as part of his career! We could have helped each other...I would have supported him all the way! And in return he could turn me into a STAR!! hahaha  But I'm here now to help in any way I can!!  Okay Eddie B ~ DO IT!! You need to share more of your talent to the rest of the world. I'm so happy that he has been blessed with this talent.....Ed went all the way on his own! You know, if it wasn't for MUSIC the World would stop spinning!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~AND THAT'S EDDIE B....MY LITTLE BROTHER
LOVE YOU BRO! KEEP JAMMMIN'!
