..*** BAND BIO ***
Formerly aka
"Hated Principles"
and now pronounced "H P",
(as the "x" is silent -
it's a ghetto graffiti punk rock
"homeboy" thang "Yo"!),
was originally formed by three teenagers from the lower
east-end of Culver City
(dead center between Venice ("Dogtown") and Hollywood, CA) who discovered that they'd rather learn how to play punk then learn how to play baseball.
Captain Anarchy -
H. x P. - First Gig Ever * DJ Club in 1981
With almost no knowledge or concept of how to play punk music, Captain Anarchy (Vocals), Tommy T-Bone (Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Lead & Backing Vocals) and Kid Kaos (Drums) scrounged up their ultra low-quality instruments and a P.A. from local garbage dumpsters.
Captain Anarchy -
H. x P. Live in 1983
They played punk, just like their old school punk heroes (who they considered virtual gods)........ well, almost
just like them.
Because the "punk" society didnt care about their technical ability as players,
the three teenagers didnt feel like they had to impress anyone, which allowed them to play freely, and admittedly very badly at first.
It was the message in their songs that was important to the band, messages of dissension and
non-conformity.

The Entire H. x P. Original Crew - C.C.H.S. 1983
The O.G. Culver x City Punk-Metal
Stoner & Surfer Thugs !
They soon recruited the help of bassist Cathy Calmes to record their first demo, and later bassist Danny Tunick (the latter whom went on to play in the band "Guv'ner" and now plays in "Barbez") and guitarist Drew Von Buseck to record their first EP and to play their first shows.
Don of the Dead & Mick Wicked -
Live in 1983
Later they recruited
Don Of The Dead (Bass)
and neighborhood shredder
Mick Wicked (Lead & Rhythm Guitar, Lead & Backing Vocals) to play support slots for up and coming national touring acts like Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Angry Samoans and Wasted Youth (to name a few...) on local L.A. shows at various infamous venues, some of which included the Cathay De Grande, The Vex, Anti Club, Club 88, The Music Machine and even the 5000+ attended Westwood Federal Building initiative rallies.
The CATHAY De GRANDE -
Our Home in Hollywood !
The band went on to record and release the afforementioned 7" vinyl EP entitled "The Curse Of Prince Hated" on Upstart Records (the same label as Red Scare, Sin 34, Circle One, etc., all of whom they also played shows with) which was distributed nationwide and found its way abroad.
H. P. continued to record and appear on many various punk compilation LP's soon after, including the "We Got Power" comps on Mystic Records.
They also toured to other cities and played with major acts of the time like the Angry Samoans, RKL, Fang, Sado-Nation and others at legendary venues like the Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco and Ruthies Inn in Berkeley, CA to name a few....
RUTHIE'S INN -
Our Vacation Pad in Berkeley, CA !

Barely surviving their Junior High and High School years in lieu of the closed-minded, mundane, conservative society around them, H. P. released their own full length 12" punk-metal crossover LP entitled "Storing Up Trouble", under the label name Gothic Gospel Records (founded by K. Seki), which was available via mail-order world wide.

Don of the Dead as "The Priest",
Kid Kaos as "The Pawn",
Mick Wicked as "The Suit".
After a long hiatus, during which various members played in other prominent local projects, the band added guitarist/songwriter
Katz (Rhythm Guitar, Lead & Backing Vocals), brother of Don, who took the band in a thrash-core direction.
Katz collaborated with various individuals from the band, in cluding original drummer Kid Kaos, as well as many prominent outsiders, including the band's "Fifth Beatle", drummer Dave Frappier (of "Rim Pests", "Therapy", "Strapt" and "Blood On The Saddle" fame); recording and releasing a slew of demos and split-EP's on both vinyl and CD, many under Gothic Gospel Records, and had songs featured on various compilations worldwide.

Recently having reformed with all original members to record a new EP under the shortened moniker of "H. P.", brothers Katz and Don, having finished contributing to the writing, re-vamping and recording of material for the forth-coming new release, have returned to writing their own new thrash-core material to continue as a recording entity under the band's original name
"Hated Principles".
H. x P. - Reunion Gig 2005 * Live at The Cat Club !!!
Meanwhile, Captain Anarchy, Mick Wicked and Tommy T-Bone, along with the addition of new bassist Scott Kessler and new drummer Sergeant Skin Basher they are making occasional off-the-hook live appearances as "H. P." (usually billed as "H. x P.", the "x" being silent in the pronunciation).
And without Tommy on lead guitar and Sergeant Skin Basher on drums, but rather with Toe Knee F-Corpse drumming instead they are also primarily pushing forward with the new classically-influenced medieval dark metal band called
"Gallow's End".
As "Gallow's End" they are currently writing and recording new material at this time.
