Solar Aura

About Me

Solar Aura's first experiments with musical instruments were at the young age of 12, after which he spent a number of years playing for several bands.A turning point in his early musical career was his discovery of electronic music through artists like Front line assembly, Funkervogt, KMFDM, Front 242 The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy and others. He instantly fell in love with the concept of combining computers and instruments to create music.By the end of 2005 Ronald had decided to move down to Cape Town, the psytrance capital of South Africa, to start work on a new solo project - Solar Aura.Since 2006 Solar Aura has worked on a number of projects while upgrading his studio. Recently he completed a colaboration called Cutting Edge with M-klome of Free Spirit Records, which has been played at a number of top party venues from London to Cape Town.Solar Aura uses a Intel Duo Core PC, Windows XP Pro, Cubase SX 3, Access Virus C synthesizer, M-audio audio interface and monitors, and various VST's.
Solar Aura also forms part of a new psy-trance act called Shockwave. www.myspace.com/shockwaveonline
