Jess heard her singing harmony, sitting in a booth, as Mr. Don Sir entertained during a Work in Progress break at Memories Tavern in Buchanan. Jesse turned around from the bar and told her to get on a mic. After a little coaxing, she agreed and she's been with them ever since.A quote from Jay Miller on his bio,"I got my first guitar for Christmas in 1964, and slowly learned how to play with the help of a "Mel Bay, Learn To Play Guitar" book. I've played my guitars from D. C. to Rapid City; Canada to Mexico. I love to sing my own, and other artists songs; and while I don't consider myself a great guitar player, I always try to add our own spirit into everything that we do. The fact that Jesse and Lisa seem to share a kindred spirit in the feeling of the music has made Work In Progress a pure joy to be part of."
