Emma Dobbs: The New Cancer
Early on that foggy August morning, Emma became the second of three children the Dobbs' family were in store to "bear." Emma Marie Dobbs was not only the middle child, (a second brother, John was only two years behind her), and the only girl, but also the only child Rupert and Emmaline had that didn't turn out a squib. They still don't have a reasonable explination, but when Emma's letter came and Thomas' (older brother by four years) hadn't they were equally confused. The Dobbs were a pureblood family and hid the fact that Emma had any siblings. Such same was to come to them if other pureblood familys found that they had children that were squibs.Though when it was her time to go to Hogwarts, unaided by brotherly advice or protection, she ended up fairing rather well on her own. Sorted into Slytherin and accepted quickly, befriending Pansy Parkinson. She did a smashup job for not having attended muggle schools before of any sort. Unlike her brothers who went as soon as they were discovered as Squibs. Her brothers only came home for Christmas, other wise they were in the muggleworld. Emma excelled in classes like charms and history of magic, and did rather poorly in Care of Magical Creatures or Herbology. She's not one to get "into" her work. But Charms were safe (for the most part) and History of Magic was just book work.Outside of studies, Emma didn't do much of anything else. She socialized with friends, and kept up on current events through the "grape-vine"; Quidditch never interested her. At least trying it first hand. Her brother's were jealous of the fact that she had the ability to not only fly a broom stick but to play a game with it! They were limited to the muggle sports their schools offered such as rugby and football, and upon returning home from her first year made sure that she would at least show them how it was played first hand. She's an avid fan now, but won't do anything more than cheer. Not even face-paint.As Emma kept proving herself in her years to come her parents were please. Her father being a Death Eater wanted Emma to become a Death Eater as well. Emma denyed his offer, but that dosent mean she dosent fallow the Dark Lord. She does, and is willing to show it to people who dare her too.You'd expect that having grown up with two brothers that she'd be stronger than your average bird, emotionally. But she knows the annoyance of being a younger sister (over-protected), the middle child ("under-loved") and older sister as well (pestered by the youngest.) So the feelings she can have around other people vary by generally just what mood she's in. Emma can be very defensive, clingy and quiet all at once, which is why most people don't understand her.
