About Me
Tim Nichols--a singer-songwriter--born in New Orleans, LA; migrated to Pittsburgh where he went to high school; served in the USMC before ending up in Atlanta, GA, where he has lived for the last 21 years, minus a two year stint in Topeka, KS.A recovered drug addict, who was kicked out of high school, went in the Marine Corps, worked construction, and finally found himself and his way back to school to become a biologist and end up working in the zoo field and the environmental field. He has even taught college and high school biology. His songs are straight forward and inspired by his life experiences. He has traveled via pick-up truck from Atlanta, through the southern U.S., through Mexico, and in to Belize. Other adventures have taken him to Africa to catch elephants and rhinos. Closer to home, he has spent summers in the swamps of Georgia catching turtles, snakes, lizards, frogs, toads, and salamanders. All along the way, his past has haunted him and now that he has returned to his music, he is allowing some of his past to come out and be shared with you.Long time friend and song-writer, Rick Bowers is credited with influencing Tim to pick his guitar back up and start writing again. It took a while, but Tim finally found the perfect drummer for his music in Sandra Senn, former drummer for Why the Fly. Sandra, a Romanian born rocker, is a steady hard pounding drummer, who plays with an incredible sense of feel for the skins. Her power fills match perfectly with Tim's straight forward chord progressions. The next piece of the puzzle to be added was bass player Steve Kuhn. Steve, also a Marine vet, is an incredibly talented bass player. Much like Tim, Steve had put his axe down for a long while, but could not keep his desire to play music buried any longer. The trio has formed a tight bond and are now searching for the missing link. No, I am not talking about a Sasquatch--they are looking for a lead guitar player. It may take some time for this trio to become a quartet, but the band is moving foward and is headed for a bar near you soon...
