I am here for Friends

About Me

I graduated from the University of South Alabama in May '07 with degrees in Communication-print journalism and English. I moved to Miami to take a job as a business reporter, and I plan to stay here for a while to gain work experience then move to a new city for graduate school. My favorite things in life are sparkling lip glosses, clever word play that is tastefully hidden among charismatic song lyrics, and my miniature wiener-dog named Brody.I miss my family and friends, but I love it when they visit me because it gives me a reason to go to Key West! Miami is a lot different than Mobile, Ala. and Lucedale, Miss. but it is always exciting, and I'm enjoying this unique experience. I'm still working on the espanol!Get your myspace layouts at MyPsace.org

I'd like to meet:

Myself 20 years from now-just to make sure I'm not an asshole or sellout.
You Belong in New York
You're a girl on the go, and LA's laid back lifestyle isn't really your thing.
You prefer a city that never sleeps, and people as ambitious as you are.
Cultured and street smart, you can truly appreciate everything New York has to offer. Do You Belong LA or NY? /a

Music:

Damien Rice, Tori Amos, Dashboard Confessional, Jack Johnson, Tool, Coldplay, and 90's music (Nirvana, Blind Melon, Oasis, Placebo, Ben Folds Five, The Verve Pipe, etc.) I've also rekindled my love for the girls (Natalie Merchant, Fiona Apple, Paula Cole, Sarah McLaughlin, Ani Difranco, etc.) Modern rock is my fav.
You Are Midtown
You love so many things, you don't fit into any one label.
Your city girl persona goes to a fancy restaurant one night and a dive bar the next. Are You Uptown or Downtown?

Movies:

Tombstone, Cruel Intentions, Almost Famous, Four Rooms, Garden State, Crazy/Beautiful, The Goodbye Girl, and--dare I say it?--The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Television:

I don't really do the t.v. thing, but I don't mind catching House and Scrubs. I also loved Sex and the City and watch the season DVDs often. I heart Carrie Bradshaw.

Books:

The entire non-fiction current affairs genre, Wicked, Downhome: An Anthology of Southern Women Writers, The Count of Monte Cristo, A Streetcar Named Desire, and all things James Patterson.

Heroes:

Jo Ann Sellers, my high school journalism teacher. She was amazing!
