A Vermont native, Jared Austin Johnson is a nationally touring musician who is equally adept at bass, mandolin, drums, keyboards and guitar. This one-man band is most noted for having toured internationally for five years as the bassist of the well-known roots-rock group The Samples. He has played to sold-out arenas of thousands, from Red Rocks in Denver to House of Blues in Chicago to preeminent summer festivals, and has shared stages with members of Phish and Big Head Todd and The Monsters. Living and breathing music since he was a young child, Johnson's influences include Peter Gabriel, Tony Levin of King Crimson and Levon Helm of The Band. His solo sets include a mix of original works, beloved Samples songs, and heartfelt interpretations of rock and folk classics. The sound is solidly roots rock with an interpretive folk sensibility.
