Influences:
Yonge Prince is from a loving family and they are his first influence. Came to Canada at a very young age from Sri Lanka, overcoming many obstacles. From a very young age he had a strong passion for poetry and music. Yonge's music is all based on real life incidents or experiences. He is a huge fan of the greatest of all time Tupac shakur and other legends like Biggie Smalls,AR RAHMAN, etc. Yonge looks at music as a getaway. "Music is a way to express your self or even vent at times when you need to" he says.Yonge composes all his tracks and works with various different production teams. He also works on industry beats at times , since his projects are currently for mixtape purpose only.His influences are the struggle, the hustle, the heartbreak, the pain, the good times, the bad times, the hatred, the friendship, the love, the betrayal, the mistakes, god, family, and the list can go on. In other words his influence is life and what he learned from life and what is yet to be learned. Dont get it twisted, he still jumps on tha club bangers for his female fans, or even tha thug-a thug joints for the reel ride or die niggiz. These are some of the samples from his first mixtape "THA NEW BORN" , and is currently working on MIXTAPE VOL.2. Yonge is currently working with alot of artists locally and internationally. So you are sure to see alot of colaborations with many different flavas on the second mixtape. Just to give you an idea, there will be a showcase of R&B, Indian, Reggae and plenty more. You just have to keep checkin. As you would already know, Yonge drops it straight from the heart like always and even on the second mixtape he brings that reel shit and no bull shit. At the same time he still offers the commercial items here and there, but his main focus is to make music that people can relate to in their everyday struggle in this long poem called life. In Yonge's own words, " Everbody's life is a poem and im just sharing mine with a beat thas all " .Plenty more to come, Keep Checking...ONE LOVE....
