A typical early morning exchange from our intrepid heroes that make up the song writing duo behind the Staines band THE NEW ASSASSINS.-------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------Since the late 80s Mik Perry / Rik Payne have been the force behind such bands as The Giant Stoneaters , Monkia and of course The Assassins. By 1990 the duo had split up the band and went their separate ways. Mik leaving for Texas USA with just a guitar , playing any bar or club and treating the clientele with his own brand of classic song writing and soulful tunes. His performances winning him many friends , among them American legends Joe Early , Butch Hancock , Jimmie Gilmore and our own Ronnie Lane. Rik , on the other hand formed the indy foursome The Bridge and clocked up indy top ten hits and found their way onto the dance floors of the New York club scene of the time.------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------OFF we go to the present day where our heroes have now formed THE NEW ASSASSINS along with Noah Harman (bass) and Danny Mcdonnell (drums). Song writing being the main focal point of their efforts has lead them to contacts within the film industry and their tunes being played on Radio 2s Jonathan Ross’s show and Les Carta’s ( unstoppable sex machine ) Phoenix Radio.------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ----THE NEW ASSASSINS have recently penned and recorded tracks for several films , their first outing is for Roswell 1847 a classic cowboy vs. alien Si-Fi pic with Hollywood backing created by Superteam Productions from West London. Roswell 1847 premièred at the LA Film Festival 4/10/2007 ( at which it won two awards Best Director and Best International Film ) and by early 2008 will be previewed at the New York Film Festival , the trailer and film features songs from our fun loving heroes THE NEW ASSASSINS.-------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------THE NEW ASSASSINS future projects for 2008 including film soundtracks for ‘ Call Me A Pyscho ‘ ( super team productions ) and ‘Diary Of The Archway Vampire’ ( Brand New Films ) that will be making it to you telly screens by late 2008.
