“Atypical people" A new name for a new start. Four musicians, Isa, Jean, Marcel and Pol. Before they were called "P-pol", but after some unlucky events in their career, they decided to change their name. Growing in strength from their experiences and not looking back are even more determined to push forward.
After their first auto produced album “A part of Us" they will be back with a brand new album Rock - Pop with more emphasis on Rock than before. Giving a veiled reference to the new beginning "Like a Phoenix" the title of their new album.
ISA : I've been singing ever since I can remember. It's more than a passion to me…It's My reason for being. I don’t have any preferences in styles of music. The only criteria I have is that it gives me this "gut" feeling. Artistes like Aretha Franklin, U2, Ben Harper, Muse, or KT Tunstall. They give me real pleasure.
JEAN : A total immersion in music since my childhood, have given me influences that are very divers from classical to jazz, from Pop to Rock n' Roll. Artistes that grab me by the b....s are: Nigel Kennedy, Steve Lukather, Mike Landau, Eric Johnson, Petrucci, Van Halen, Pat Métheny, Mike Stern, George Benson, and Robert Ford. Guitarists, the majority of whom fuses my passion for music and gives me a thirst to reach perfection with my guitars.
MARCEL: I belong to a family of artists for three generations, and music was always present during my childhood, my influences are very varied, Led Zep, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Earth Wind and Fire, Prince, Larry Graham Central Parliament, Electric Light Orchestra, Tower of Power. Tears for fears, Joe Louis Walker, and much more. Very eclectic in my way of approaching music, with a great M, initially it's a good feeling.
PAUL: A passion for music with the discovery of Prince, it was the catchy rhythms which gave me the desire for learning drums techniques. Thereafter it was another aspect of this art, more creative which spurred me on to composing music. Today my preferences are those of Archive, Placebo, Travis, Elbow, and many others.
Quatre Musiciens, Isa au chant, Jean à la guitare, Marcel à la basse et Pol à la batterie. Ce n'est que depuis peu qu'ils ont opté pour le nom de "Atypical people" jusque là , le groupe s'appelait "P-pol" c'est après quelques petits soucis professionnels qu'ils ont fait ce choix.
Après avoir produit et réalisé leur premier album "A part of us", ils remettent ça avec un deuxième album plus pop/rock que jamais, avec un petit clin d'--il à leur nouveau départ, puisque leur nouveau CD s'intitule "Like a Phoenix".
Isa : Depuis mon plus jeune âge, j’ai toujours chanté, c’est plus qu’une passion, c’est une raison d’être. Je n’ai pas de style préféré, aimant toutes les musiques à la seule condition que celle-ci me touche. C’est ainsi que j’écoute des gens comme Aretha Franklin, U2, en passant par Ben Harper, Muse ou KT Tunstall.
Jean : Véritable immersion dans la musique depuis mon enfance, cela fait que mes influences sont très variées allant du classique au jazz en passant par la pop et le rock. Paul : Une passion pour la musique avec la découverte de Prince, ce fût le déclic qui m’a donné envie d’apprendre à jouer de la batterie, par la suite c’est un autre aspect de cet art, plus créatif qui m’a subjugué, la composition. Aujourd’hui mes musiques préférés sont celles d’Archive, Placebo, Travis, Elbow, et bien d’autres.
