The heart of her talent is filled with maturity seasoned by tough street life experiences. This remarkably positive young lady learned early that the road to greatness requires serious commitment, consistent drive, passion & the undying desire to overcome any and all obstacles.
Her message to all those who will listen is, “The belief in one's self and love are tools of longevity and can be used to anchors in success.” This bright shining star of inspiration began her professional journey to stardom at age 12. She traveled to The 90210 Modeling Recruiting Agency in Los Angeles. They were conducting auditions at The Bonaventure Hotel.
Jami dazzled spectators with her eye catching beauty and charm. After receiving her first serious call back she had to drop out of the contest due to her family's financial challenges. J's family was unable to secure the required portfolio. Heart broken, not defeated and determined to prevail, this fighter, Jami Simms refused to quit.
J FAITH began focusing on here roots, singing in church, off Broadway theatre productions & more talent competitions. This activity carried her throughout the teenage years.
Shortly after high school, the streets began calling, faced with limited circles of personal support, painful thoughts of homelessness and fast paced street life temptations, this strong and determined young woman began to feel as if she was in a fight to just live safely. Sure it was tough but she never let go of her dream to sing, act and be an example of positive perseverance to others.
Ms. Simms was asked to join an independent record label; the demonstration of an elite brand of professionalism combined with superior recording skills quickly earned her the title first lady of the record label. However; creative differences placed her once again on her own.
Pushing forward Jami soon found herself amongst 30,000 San Diego contestants auditioning for placement in the American Idol competition. Although she didn't win, the experience was exhilarating and prepared her for her next destined show biz break which would come from KONVICT RECORDS, a label owned by world renowned recording artist AKON.
This would be a dream come true and a prayer answered for J FAITH. A phone call led to a meeting. That meeting then led to a recording session with the label's Colby O'Donis who is a BRAND NEW highly talented 18 year old upcoming artist currently signed to KONVICT RECORDS.
J FAITH & COLBY would begin producing her first professional demonstration cd entitled, “Above the Struggle”. Next stop Hollywood, Red Carpet appearances, plenty of studio time and oh did I say more studio time!
