well, what can i say... i seem to be one of a kind in an area different from what i knew, i know that there are more like me out there, ijust have a hard time finding and meeting them, and being in the army where everyone wears the same uniform makes it even more difficult. cybergoth, future punk, whatever you want to call it. admit it guys, traditional goth as you know it is dead. look around next time you shop at hot topic. what do they have in the way of clothing, not much, look at their music. the cure is gone, bauhaus is now the same he was, but look at the evolution of most of these "goth" bands, clan of xymox, x marks the pedwalk, many others, who are now more on the electronic side of the scene. evolving beyond what was and now is. moving towards a future where you don't have to fit into what is stereotypically called goth. i was djing at a club, and met some of these so called new goths, whose musical knowledge is limited to depechemode, marilyn manson, the cure rammstein and mindless self indulgence, dont get me wrong, they aren't bad, but, first off, manson is not goth or industrial, neither is rammstein. take a look at the short list of the music that is what we are evolving into, not many of them are new, but the scene here needs to be brought up to date. its 2007, not 1987. quit holding onto the past, keep it with you, but open your arms to what there is to be experienced. open your mind to the sound of today, and tomorrow. its kinda funny, that goth's are supposed to be 'open minded' but i have met so many who seem to have the attitude that if they don't carry it at hot topic, or its not depressing, and written by some heroine junky who cant sing, and has to pretend he's a vampire, then its not goth. sorry to say it again, but goth IS dead. anyway, enough ranting for now, mainly my message is again, open your arms and embrace the future, open your minds and feel the sound of many whom are relatively unkown and have so much to offer. well, now some more about me, im 25 from jersey, now stationed at for bragg nc. into the club scene (ebm, industrial, various electronic). can't stand rap. my main interests are art and music. i produce my own, ebm and electroindustrial( check out my other page at http://www.myspace.com/ourapostacy ). hopefully getting somewhere with it soon. if you wanna demo, just email me... also, i just recently joined the army. so i'll be movin around a bit. also, i dj at a local bar called sinners, as dj halo/ die tot maschine. spinning ebm, industrial, noise, synthpop, futurepop, and some goth shit. im usually pretty open minded so if you wanna hear something i dont have, just bring it in, but i must warn you if it really sux you can pic up the pieces of the cd out in the parkinglot afterwards. ;) just kidding. anyway, looking for those in the north carolina area into the more current cybergoth scene, doesn't seem to be too well known around here, but we need to bring the area up to date. if you would like to hear some really good new/ not so new, but unknown music around the nc area, come to sinners, first friday of every month also, look for me under HALO or die tot maschine spinning around the area, you won't be dissapointed. also, if you would like me to dj, im cheap, just a few drinks and a little off the door charge, and im happy, get me on a good day, and i'll spin for some alcohol. email me if interested in booking. also, my screen name is digitalhalo06 on aim
