Hello All!! My name is Gabrielle (Gabbie) and I am currently a senior at Western Kentucky University and will graduate in December with a BA in Psychology. After that, I will be going to gradutate school to earn my ED.S. (education specialist) degree (between a Masters and a Doctorate) to become a school psychologist. I have a wonderful fiance' of whom I will be getting married to June 20th, 2009.I thank GOD for EVERYTHING that he has done for me! Without Him, I wouldn't be half the person that I am today. I live my life thanking God for everything that will come to pass in my life. Even if I can't name all the blessings that he has in store for my life; I know they are well on the way. I'm devoted to serving Him and carrying out the vision for which he has given me. Proverbs says "where there is no vision, the people will perish". Therefore, I will choose to surround myself with other visionaries who are SERIOUS about serving Christ.. See, a lot of times people get it twisted; they think that coming to church every sunday and grudgingly giving their tithes is gonna get them a passport to heaven. I got some bad news for you! IT WON'T. The book of Matthew states that the Lord will tell his servants (keyword: SERVANTS): "Well done, thou good and FAITHFUL SERVANT; you've been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things"!! Okay so let's break this down...to be a servant means to be a slave, and to be a slave, you have to serve the Master and follow his orders. To be servants of Christ, you have to deny yourself (characteristics of a slave), put on His full armor of protection, and be prepared for whatever God has planned for your life. When you die and God asks you how you served him and the only thing you can say is "I was always on time for church, or I sang really good in the choir, or I shouted every so often", then you are in trouble. Start evaluating your purpose and what God has for your life. It's about more than the FOUR WALLS of church; get outta your comfort zone, and start ministering to those outside of 'the church': how about to some of your friends you know aren't saved, or to people in the streets. Even Jesus went to 'forbidden' places to minister to those who needed to be saved. What about the woman at the well who Jesus asked for a drink of water? She was a prostitute. So when did us Christians get holier than Christ himself, that we turn our nose up to those who are lost. I bet if we dig deep, we can ALL find some stuff that stinks in our own lives! And that's REAL TALK! It is his command for us that we serve him with our ALL and endure this race to the end, then we will receive our reward!!! Woohoo...I went on a major, but much needed tangent.
