IncaHunters - THE PROJECT
CARLOS PERÓN met BORIS BLACK in Peru in 2001 while celebrating the "real"
millenium. A few months later they introduced the INCA HUNTERS project at
the Club ELEVATOR in Cologne. BORIS BLACK is owner of a digital dream studio called INCA HUNTERS Studio. CARLOS PERÓN owns an analogue/digital retro studio called MODERN CORRECTIONS. In these two studios the new sound was created. The first album, "Totalis", is finished and ready for release. You are cordially invited to immerse yourself in this new sound - a mix of Industrial Trance, Future Pop and YELLO-esque sound.
biography CARLOS PERÓN
Carlos Perón says: "I work like a film director. With the vision of what a piece should turn out to be, I gather various musicians around me, who can perfectly translate this idea into sound." Others might say that he works more like a prison warden, terrorizing those around him into complying with his every whim. But, that's why his projects are so well realized. CARLOS PERÓN is the rather worldly co-founder of the cult group YELLO. Following the release of YELLO's third album, "You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess" (1983), CARLOS left in 1984 in order to pursue a number of brazenly adventurous solo projects. Indeed, there is a consensus among some music critics that YELLO lost their edge once he departed. The same year CARLOS composed and recorded the soundtrack for the movie "Die Schwarze Spinne" (The Black Spider). Between 1985 and 1992 he was commissioned to create two new works: "Die Schöpfung der Welt" (The Creation of the World) and "Gold
Project". He also used this time to solidify his reputation as a producer and was brought in to remix pieces by "Munich Symphonic Sound Orchestra", "Brainticket", "Wolfsheim", "Sielwolf", and many more. "Impersonator" Vols.
1-3 were released during this period and showcased CARLOS' style at its most experimental. By end of the eighties he also realized a major career move with the album "Gold for Iron" for Teldec Records, Germany. After this he composed the music for the TV-show "Schmidteinander". In 1992 he developed the music for the fetish performance "Terminatrix", sponsored by the TV station "Premiere". This huge success motivated him to create a fetish mix called "La Salle Blanche". His label Strange Ways Records brought this erotic soundtrack immediately to the market. It sold in the thousands worldwide and became a cult item. One guy in Korea payed 250 Dollar for a copy. From then on CARLOS was hailed as the "pope of fetish music".
Following this success, he hooked up with science fiction writer, Ady Henry Kiss (Suhrkamp Edition) for whom he invented a new genre, "movie on paper" - so called "original novel soundtracks". CARLOS.. nickname is also "Mr. Dom" because he is one of the few composers risking the use of "reverb clouds" in deep amounts. He was already noted for "noisescapes" in his pieces long before sampling technology was available and was also one of the first musicians to utilize machines like Fairlight, Emulator and Mirage. With "YELLO", CARLOS was perhaps world's first sampling maestro.
biography BORIS BLACK
Influenced by commercial and vanguard electronic music, BORIS BLACK started his musical activities with extensive sampling experiments on a low cost computer with an 8-Bit-Soundcard back in 1992. He was fascinated by the possibilities this technology gave him. Promptly, he replaced the soundcard with a professional sampling system, adding to it analogue and digital synthesizers. Thus began a musical evolution. Today BORIS BLACK operates as a musician and producer in his own studio. The key aspects of his musical works are vanguard electro/industrial structures and sound design.
He acted as Songwriter for Carlos Perón, Skorbut, Jack Andrews and The 3rd Culture. He also worked on remixes for Battlecats, Eisbrecher and Dr. Ozz.
