Eric Embrey and Steve Simpson have completed three new tracks and now plan on bringing back the very first track they ever written together that they had previously scrapped named 'Why'. They still seek a drummer and a bassist.

FBD drops out of BATTLE OF THE BANDS due to their inablility to attend Round Two without Adam Elkins. We here at the FBD myspace page would like to wish the rest of the contestants good luck and hopefully we can perform together in the future.

FBD passes Round One of BATTLE OF THE BANDS at THE GALAXY ENTERTAINMENT CENTER/NEBULA UNDERGROUND in Coleman, MI with BRASKY and MONROE IS DYING due to two other bands dropping out of the contest. A big thanks goes out to Mr. and Mrs. C for the opportunity they have given us.

FBD Hosts ELKINS FEST 2008 Featuring CAPACITOR, LEFT OF ZERO, XAMARA, FALLEN BELOW DARKNESS and A DYING SOCIETY. Unfortunately, the Isabella Sheriffs Department crashed the show at approx. 10:30p due to fireworks, between LEFT OF ZERO and XAMARA's performances. XAMARA, FALLEN BELOW DARKNESS and A DYING SOCIETY could not perform after the incident.

FBD performs for the second time at THE GALAXY ENTERTAINMENT CENTER/NEBULA UNDERGROUND in Coleman, MI. Steven Oliver was removed from the band this night due to indecency after the show.

FBD headlines thier first show at THE GALAXY ENTERTAINMENT CENTER/NEBULA UNDERGROUND in Coleman, MI with the return of Steve Simpson to the line-up.
THE STORY:
It all started when two of the founding members of a local hard rock/metal band, named Severed End, lost thier drummer. One of them was a guitarist named Eric Embrey, and the other a vocalist named Stephen Simpson. Thier music was everything to them and they needed to find somebody to replace the only drummer that they have ever had.
About two weeks after Eric and Steve lost thier drummer, one seemed to fall into thier laps as if it was by God's Will. This man's name is Adam Elkins. Being in the metal scene for quite a long time he seemed to fit the genre of thier music perfectly. This is the time when the band name changed from Severed End to Suffocation Effect.
They still needed a bassist and soon found out how hard it was to find one that was as dedicated to making metal music as we were. The band held tryouts for almost any musician that they could get to come out. One of them was a vocalist named Joshua Nelson. Although Joshua was not used to singing to such heavy music .. Eric, Stephen, and Adam figured that the transformation would be quick and easy for him.
Within a matter of two months, the members of Suffocation Effect had wrote three songs. Although they still needed a bassist, they had felt like they had accomplished alot in such a short period of time. Problems started to arise between Stephen and Joshua, as they couldn't seemed to find bliss between thier two different writing styles. Stephen had left the band and almost as quickly as it had come together, it had fallen back apart. The band was soon forced to take a break for 5 weeks because of Eric breaking his right hand.
The weeks went by quickly and as soon as Eric's cast came off, him and Adam were back to practicing on a regular basis. Joshua had moved farther away but he was still commited and could still make band practice. This is about the time when the band named changed from Suffocation Effect to Fallen Below Darkness. Still in need of a bassist, they held more tryouts. They found a guy named Stephen Oliver who had recently moved to Michigan from Texas. His knowledge of music and ability to play his insturment was key. Within just a few practices, Steve O. had the music down and ready to play.
The four musicians practiced and wrote music together for the next month and a half. Things started to come together and soon enough they were in the studio recording the same three songs that they had first started off with. Although the quality of the demo was not as good as they hoped, they had still felt like they had accomplished something. The night after the last recording session, Fallen Below Darkness held thier first live performance as a Pool Hall/Tattoo Studio in Remus, MI. Over 40 people were in attendance and the show seemed to go just as they had planned.
Soon after, they had found themselves between a rock and a hard place as Joshua had moved even farther away then before. Joshua was now out of the line-up. Without a vocalist FBD was once again incomplete. Adam and Eric had called Stephen Simpson and made it clear that they wanted him back in the band. Although Stephen was in another band at the time, he had decided that he would much rather pick up where he had left off. Shortly after, they performed a free show to show they were back and active.
Things were going good as the members of FBD were scheduling shows, writing new material and gaining a larger fan base. But as they do, personal problems got in the way of the band. Steve Oliver was moving back to Texas and a few months later Adam Elkins also left. Now, FBD is yet again, struggling to maintain a line-up.
