Gillatine

It all began around 02; when KB, Droc, and Gillatine consolidated to form the Villians. Continually spittin through out the next few years the group never really got to high. Mabye it’s cuz we were all to high at the time. Talent simply went by undocumented. In fall of 05, while in London, Gillatine met DJ Refugee and a British MC named Fahim. This is were skills were refined through numerous sessions in the basement of Regents College. With two turntables and a mic Gillatine and Fahim would spit till the sun came up. As soon as Gill got back to the states it was on. He met up with some old friends, A-Dubs, HArrch DEfinite, and Droc, and began banging out tracks in the studio at Fairfield U. Unfortunately we ran into trouble accessing the studio after our engineer got into some drug related complications and was dismissed from school. In the following fall the anxiety and anticipation was building as plenty of lyrics had gone unrecorded through out the past months. After moving in with Harrch and soon-to be MC Chad, Gillatine was back to work. Using what resources we had, aka garbage, i mean garage band, we began banging out tracks through out the winter. With frequent visits from A Dubs and D roc it became a weekly tradition to lay tracks. By spring we had a plethora of songs to go around. Unfortunately our lease was up in may and we all would go our separate ways. But not until the epic Infinite Resoultions was recorded. That track brought the end to a great era. Both Chad and Harrch Definite would continue to work in both producing and recording original tracks. You can check Harrch on this damn site. Close friend Droc is still on his grind and with Gill’s new proximity something is bound to happen. Look out for his mixtape DrocNY. As for me I’m still on my grind trying to expand my horizons and focus on writing tracks that actually bring meaning and direction through the use of precise word play.
