About Me
Hi there, I'm Steph Geber. Thanks for checking out my myspace page. I like this site because it's a great way to promote your own music, as well as discover new music. I've found a ton of amazing music by browsing artists' pages that lead to other artists' pages... you get the point. Anyhow, a bit about me that you may find interesting:I write songs and play piano. I am Italian. I am an a cappella dork (shout out to Ladies First). I am a great friend and I have great friends. I am obsessed with 3 part harmony. I am awesome at Super Mario Kart and WILL beat you in every game. I am sarcastic and love to make people laugh. I feel that everyone is entitled to his or her own beliefs about religion and faith, and that those views should not affect politics. I am not perfect and will never be.Some likes: stargazing lilies, animals, comfortable clothes, bodies of water, drawing, sushi, pasta, cars, working out, musical theater, connecting with people, coffee, stars shining in the night sky, laughing, interesting television shows about history. Some dislikes: insects, flying, cold weather, the use of "LOL," "LMAO" and "ROFL," red meat, judgment, fear, hate, loud noises that make me jump, distance between me and people I love, the words "moist", "custard" and "riblets," carrots, misunderstandings, money, inefficiency.I hope you enjoy my music and you are able to come to a live show of mine sometime. If you are able to connect with my music in any way, well, then my job is done. And now for a more professionally worded description of who I am (if that kind of thing interests you):Steph Geber is a rising singer/songwriter from Shaker Heights, Ohio. Before moving to New York City in November of 2003, Steph attended Indiana University, where she was a four year member of the Singing Hoosiers, and a three year member of the all-female a cappella group, Ladies First. LF recorded and produced two CDs, one of which was awarded a Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award for Best Female Collegiate Album in 2001. Steph was the primary song arranger of LF for two years. Also in 2001, she was awarded a CARA for Best Female Collegiate Arrangement.
Born into a family of generations of classical musicians, Steph has been familiar with all genres of music since she was young. Steph has performed at the White House twice, and has appeared on numerous stages throughout the country since age five. With a musical theater background and thirteen years of vocal training, she has an extensive musical repertoire. Steph recorded her first solo demo in 2003 at Airtime Studios, with the help of producer Dave Weber and singer/songwriter Krista Detor. She has also recorded five tracks with producer Ryan Binder in New York City. Steph has recently worked with songwriters Jimmy Santis and Hugh Colocott. She has also worked with rap artist Lexicon, and can be heard on such tracks as "Fly Away," "Buttah," and "Can't Let You Go." Steph and her band have been seen performing at the Triad, 169 Bar, Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, Lilly Coogan's, Kenny's Castaways and Googie's Lounge above the Living Room in New York City. Steph is currently an active talent scout for www.MajorLabelScout.com, continues to arrange songs for collegiate a cappella groups, and just released her first full-length album, "Songs About You."
