About Me
The Day began as a recording project during the Summer of 2007 while lead vocalist, Adam Mariucci was in the process of constructing a better, more professional sounding home studio in the bay area of Northern California. It was during that Summer, and into the Fall of 2007, when friends Ryan Rosendin and Jonny Fernandez spent much time helping to develop the sound and character of the music which soon they labeled under the title "The Day." It wasn't until connecting with younger brother Stephen Mariucci in order to finish the writing and recording process, that their first ep "Something about Feeling" was in fact able to be sent off for mastering, and released in the Spring of 2008.
At this point, the four members of The Day made it routine to promote, market, and advertise the music to create as much a buzz possible in the myspace music scene. Yet, understanding that while attending colleges in the fall and spring, and having no drummer for any possible live performances, it seemed as though The Day, with the exception of their passion for writing and recording music, was a lost cause. Until old friend and drummer, Mike Darby, (who played in the Mariucci brothers' old band "Out of Fiction") came back to the scene. Ready for anything, Mike, or as most refer to him just as Darby, learned the parts for The Day within a months time, and made the band ready to perform.
The Day's first show, performed in Berkeley, CA, served as a great sign to the possibility of success for the band after a great response and reaction from the audience. The Day now looks forward to playing as many shows possible and will continue to write and record music, now, with no limits.
