About Me

My name is Amal. I am a Canadian Song Writer and a member of S.A.C (Songwriters Association of Canada) and a member of SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada). I write both poems/lyrics and stories. I have written 114 poems/lyrics, and 3 I have turned into songs. I am looking for talented singers/musicians to put my words into music. I also have written a book describing the story of my personal life. A book that describes personal events, negative and sad circumstances, which I faced as a child and as an adult. As a person who was born and brought up in Iraq, my book shows and points to the harsh social customs and family oppressive and controlling tendencies. My story reflects personal suffering and tragedy. It gives the reader a feel of someone, who had to endure a life of brutality and human wickedness, in a society that lacks human consideration and respect of the individual. In the book, I describe my life in a very emotional way because the magnitude of the personal suffering is beyond comprehension. I believe the reader will be shocked to find out how a society that proclaims a religious devotion and piousness can exhibit such oppression and abusiveness. The social oppression that I had to go through was a tremendous personal trial of patience, psychological stamina, and strength. This is why I wrote this book. It helped me to examine my life, the cruel events, and the unbelievable lack of human decency to others, especially children, who are always subjected to cruelty. It is a touching personal story that will move human hearts and emotions. My goal is to turn this book into a movie because I feel it has a rich personal story that has social meaning and lessons. If you are a producer/screenplay writer and interested, I will be happy to submit the manuscript for your review and consideration.
